Dear Dr. Mercury,
I write this letter to warn you of an emerging threat greater than any your people have seen before. This threat is not just on a global scale but a cosmic one. It is against my people’s beliefs to meddle in the matters of other universes, but I refuse to stand by and watch your universe crumble, dragging my own behind it. I have gone against the wishes of my people to warn you, so please heed this message.
I will not be able to send another.
The threat to our universe is you.
I am from a different version of your Earth. As far as we can tell, our two worlds
mimic each other like a mirror. The only thing that diverged our evolution is we
are all the same color. We are all blue.
We never experienced the horrors of racism, prejudice, or intolerance. We have been able to achieve world peace and live in a world without wars, famine, or disease.
All because we understand that we are all human and must work together, unified.
We have watched you over centuries, hoping your people would evolve past your barbaric ideologies. That hope is gone. Your people still hold hate in their hearts, and this hate is causing the multiverse to fracture. Most worlds evolve past barbaric ideologies, but your world has found a way to evolve with them and implement hate into everyday life.
Think of the multiverse as a bag of marbles. When a world has more hate than love, its marble gets hotter and hotter until it burns a hole in the bag and falls out, taking all others with them. Since your world is close to mine in this bag of marbles, your values are being reflected in my world and making us experience riots, wars, and plagues, things we have not experienced in millennia.
This will continue until inevitably our worlds will become so alike that they merge, destroying any chance of peace that either of our worlds have.
You now hold the fate of every living being in your hands. You have just 500 days until the impact of our worlds. Do not stop trying, even for even one second.
I know you are probably thinking, “Why me?” Because I am you. I am Dr. Patrick Mercury from my world, and I know that if I received this letter I would not stop until I had saved our planets.
Take to the streets. Speak from the heart, others will listen and follow you. You now have the world on your shoulders. I hope you can carry the weight well. The world is counting on you.
